· מתי משתמשים?
1. כשרוצים לתאר פעולה שחוזרת על עצמה באופן קבוע:
I cook dinner every evening
2. כשמתארים עובדה:
The sun shines in the east and sets in the west.
3. לתיאור תוכניות עתידיות:
The new program begins next week
4. לתיאור אירועי ספורט, לסיפורים ולבדיחות:
Maradona kicks the ball !!! It's a goal !!!
איות: * משתמשים לגוף שלישי יחיד בלבד *
1. בדרך-כלל מוסיפים s
2. לפעלים שמסתיימים ב- s, ss, sh, ch, x, o יש להוסיף es (fixes, wishes, watches, does)
3. לפעלים שמסתיימים בעיצור + y מורידים את ה-y ומוסיפים ies (try-tries, hurry-
hurries)
